Sub : Notification of 'Policy and Guidelines for accepting and utilization of Contributions/ Grants/ Donations from Corporates/ Industries under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’ for implementation by CSIR/ Laboratories

1. Ministry of Corporate Affairs had issued a Notification G.S.R 776(E); dated October 11, 2019 regarding amendment to Schedule VII(ix) of the Companies Act 2013 to include National Laboratories and Autonomous bodies (viz., CSIR) which are engaged in conducting research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine to receive contributions from corporates/ industries under CSR to promote Sustainable Development Goals.
2. CSIR has formulated 'Policy and Guidelines for accepting and utilization of Contributions/ Grants/ Donations from Corporates/ Industries under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’.
3. The Governing Body of CSIR through circulation has approved the CSR Policy and Guidelines under Rule 40 of the CSIR Memorandum 2018 –Rules and Bye laws.
4. DG CSIR as Chairman, GB, CSIR is pleased to accord approval for adoption and implementation of 'Policy and Guidelines for accepting and utilization of Contributions/ Grants/ Donations from Corporates/ Industries under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’ in CSIR/Laboratories.
