JSPS International Fellowships for Research in Japan (Invitational Fellowship (Short-term) [S]) [Last Date: 29 August 2025 & 28 April 2026]

Objective: To provide opportunities for overseas researchers with excellent records of research achievements to visit Japan short-term for discussions, opinion exchanges, lectures, and other activities. 

Area of Focus: All fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences are included under these programs.

Submission Window:

• Recruitment 1st - Apply online until 29 August 2025
• Recruitment 2nd - Apply online until 28 April 2026

Project Duration: 14 to 60 days 

Financial Support:

• Airfare: A roundtrip air ticket (economy-class) (based on JSPS’s regulations)
• Maintenance Allowance: JPY 18,000 per day
• Overseas travel insurance
• Research support allowance: Up to JPY 150,000
