Objective: This open call under Grand Challenges India (GCI–BIRAC) aims to support indigenous innovations and transformative solutions in the priority infectious disease areas. The call focuses on high-risk, high-reward innovations for screening and diagnostics, with an emphasis on near point-of-care and ultra-low-cost solutions that can significantly improve accessibility and availability. 

Area of Focus: i) tuberculosis, ii) emerging pathogens, iii) syndromic panels and iv) enteric pathogens

Fellowship Duration: 12 months and 18 months 

Financial Support: Two funding level -

1. Exploratory proposal with support up to INR50,00,000.00 ($55,000) for up to 12 months duration, and
2. Solution, innovation, product or technology proposal with support up to INR 2,00,00,000 (USD 200,000) for up to 18 months duration
